Hi, I am Quratulain Binte Khalid.

An ambitious, creative and a self-motivated human by nature, I started my professional life as a banker with Citi Bank and later moved to Barclays Bank PLC. Those were interesting five years of my life which made me the workaholic that I am today. During this time I realised that working hard is great but only on work that you truly enjoy.

Photography was never a hobby. I did not know any photographers while growing up. I just saw a ripped piece of newspaper announcing about admissions in Indus Valley School Of Art & Architecture and decided that it’s something I could do. A week later, I had applied and another week later, I was taking my classes at IVS. A year later I had a PGD in Photography.

I have been fortunate to be taught by some of the best photographers in the country. I was represented by 18% grey as a full time commercial photographer from 2011 till 2019. As a young photographer, I tried almost every genre of photography before I decided that Fashion, Lifestyle and Documentary are my areas of interest. I enjoy photographing people in their spaces and experiment with both available and artificially created light.

Some of my work has been published with CNN, The Australian Gourmet Traveller, The Express Tribune, Visage and Women’s Own Magazine, to name a few. A series of my self portraits were published in a book, titled, KAM SUKHAN – Published by MARKINGS in 2013.

I currently work as Director – Creative & Content with Brandverse and work as an independent Visual Artist.
